Conxita Julià y Farrés was a Spanish poet and hiker born on June 11, 1920, in Barcelona and passed away on January 9, 2019. Starting in 1934, she exchanged letters with Lluís Companys, the president of Catalonia, initiating their correspondence after she sent him a poem following the events of October 6, 1934. A sculpture honoring Companys, featuring a representation of Julià as a young woman with a scarf, was inaugurated in 1997 at the Lluís Companys promenade in Barcelona.
