Based in Portland, Oregon, he focuses on the relationship between humans and nature, particularly in the Alaskan wilderness. Since 2002, he has captured his experiences at sea as a Bering Sea crab fisherman and during summers as a captain of a sockeye salmon fishing boat in Bristol Bay, Alaska. His work highlights environmental issues and the connection between man and the natural world.
