Cori Anika Bush (born July 21, 1976) is an American politician, registered nurse, and activist in the Black Lives Matter movement. She serves as the U.S. Representative for Missouri's 1st congressional district, which includes the city of St. Louis and most of northern St. Louis County. In August 2020, she made history by defeating long-term incumbent Lacy Clay in the Democratic primary, becoming the first African American woman from Missouri to serve in the U.S. House. She previously ran in the 2018 Democratic primary and the 2016 U.S. Senate election in Missouri.
