Corie Mapp, born in 1978 in Bridgetown, Barbados, is an accomplished international para-athlete and former Lance Corporal in the British Army's The Life Guards. Notable for being the first Barbadian to participate in the Queen's Birthday Parade, he served in Afghanistan where he suffered life-changing injuries from an explosive device. After recovery, he excelled in athletics and sitting volleyball, competing in notable events including the Warrior Games and Invictus Games. In 2020, he transitioned to a role in law enforcement as a Police Community Support Officer and authored his autobiography, Black Ice, in 2021.
