Cornelis van der Wal, born on January 28, 1956, in Ljouwert, is a Frisian writer and poet. He lived in Groningen for 18 years, later moving to Sneek from 2009 to 2013, and then returning to Ljouwert. He has published seven poetry collections, winning the Fedde Schurer Prize for his first collection In nêst jonge magneten in 1993. Additionally, he has served as a poetry reviewer for the Friesch Dagblad and is involved in composing electronic music.
