Corrie Schimmel is a retired Dutch swimmer born on April 29, 1939, in Bussum. She specialized in freestyle swimming and competed in the 1950s. At the 1960 Rome Summer Olympics, she finished seventh in the 400 meters freestyle. Notably, she won a gold medal in the 4x100 meters freestyle and a silver in the 400 meters freestyle at the 1958 European Swimming Championships. Between 1957 and 1960, she secured five national championships in the 400 and 1,500 meters freestyle and set ten European records in distances from 200 to 1,500 meters in 1959 and 1960.
