He served in WWII, commanding troops in Malaya and as a POW on the Burma-Thailand Railway, earning recognition for leadership. After the war, he became president of various organizations and continued his legal career. He was married twice and had four children. McEachern passed away in 1983, leaving a legacy in both military and legal fields.
