She authored and illustrated over 40 children's books, beginning with her story about an orange-haired rag doll. Her first book, 'Tell Me Some More,' was published in 1961, and she contributed to six books by photographer Ylla. Bonsall's unique style delivered humor and skillful storytelling, earning her recognition in the field of children's literature before her passing on January 10, 1995.
