She is currently the Ernest and Amelia Gallo Family Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine at Stanford University and serves as the founding director of the Stanford Center for Cancer Cell Therapy. Mackall’s research has focused on immunotherapy for childhood cancers, particularly through CAR T-cell therapies. She has made significant contributions in understanding the immune system's interaction with traditional cancer treatments and has received notable accolades for her groundbreaking work.
