Cynthia McKinney is an American politician and activist born on March 17, 1955. She served six terms in the U.S. House of Representatives as a member of the Democratic Party and was the first Black woman elected to represent Georgia. After leaving the Democratic Party, she ran for the presidency of the Green Party in 2008. McKinney has been a vocal critic of various administration policies and has called for investigations into significant events, including the 9/11 attacks. She was defeated in the 2006 Democratic primary and later attempted to join the Green Party.
