D. K. Khaparde (1939-2000) was an Indian activist, a founding member of BAMCEF, established in 1971, and later served as its president. He was influenced by Ambedkarism and worked closely with Kanshi Ram to promote the Phule-Ambedkar movement. After resigning from his job, he dedicated himself to BAMCEF, setting up offices in 18 states across India. His vision aimed to maintain BAMCEF as a social organization amidst differing views for political involvement. Khaparde's contributions significantly advanced the cause of Mahar Buddhists and their social movements.
