W. D. Weerasingha is a Sri Lankan politician born on April 15, 1979. He served as a provincial councillor and was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Ampara District. He began his political career with the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) and was elected to the Eastern Provincial Council in 2012. In 2017, he left the Sri Lanka Freedom Party to support former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. In 2020, he faced allegations of leading a mob that attacked a political opponent and was later elected again to the Parliament as part of the Sri Lanka People's Freedom Alliance.
