Dag Anton Malnes (March 19, 1930 - August 17, 2021) was a Norwegian civil engineer and inventor of the software program OLGA for oil and gas transport in pipelines. He grew up in Burfjord, Troms, and fled with his family during World War II. Malnes studied at NTH, receiving his doctorate in 1967. He worked at the Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) where he became a research chief, developing OLGA, which became a global success. He was honored in the Technology Hall of Fame in Houston for his contributions.
