Dagmar Geisler is a German author and illustrator of children's books, born on September 30, 1958, in Siegen. She grew up in Hesse and currently resides near Munich with her family. Geisler studied at the University of Wiesbaden from 1979 to 1984 and began her illustration career while studying. She has illustrated for various newspapers and television, and started writing children's books in the late 1980s. Over the years, she has published more than 50 titles and received accolades for her work, including the Stiftung Buchkunst award in 2003.
