Dagur B. Eggertsson is an Icelandic politician born on June 19, 1972, who has served as the mayor of Reykjavík since June 16, 2014. He previously held this position from October 16, 2007, to January 21, 2008. He is the chairperson of the Social Democratic Alliance in Reykjavík's city council and has been a council member since 2002. Eggertsson, originally from Oslo, is also an author who wrote a biography about former Prime Minister Steingrímur Hermannsson, published between 1998 and 2000.
