Daichi Banjō is a Japanese manga artist born Akinori Kidera on January 28, 1969, in Tokyo, Japan. Raised in Fukuoka Prefecture, he graduated from Seinan Gakuin University. He began his career as an assistant to Takashi Shiina. In 1991, he gained recognition with the 21st Shogakukan Award for New Artists for his work 'Feron 11' and received an honorable mention at the Fujiko Fujio Award. He made his formal debut in 1992 under the pseudonym Daichi Banjō with the short story 'Puma' in a special issue of Shonen Sunday.
