She serves as the Deputy Chair of the Latvian Farmers' Union and has held the position of Speaker of the Latvian Saeima since September 20, 2023. Mieriņa has been a member of the Saeima since November 1, 2022, and has previously led the Carnikava municipality Council from 2009 to 2015 and again from 2016 to 2021. Additionally, she served as a deputy in both the Carnikava and Adazi municipalities.
