Lyonpo Damcho Dorji, born on June 23, 1965, in Khailo, Gasa, Bhutan, is the current Minister of Foreign Affairs, having assumed office in August 2015. An accomplished academic, he holds a Bachelor of Laws from Government Law College in Mumbai and a Master of Laws from Georgetown University. His judicial career included roles as Deputy Registrar General and Judge in various courts, and he served as Attorney General from 2006 to 2007. A member of the People’s Democratic Party, he was elected to Parliament in 2008. Dorji is married with four children and enjoys archery and gardening.
