He was capped by Ireland at the U-21 level and has played for teams like Connacht, Northampton Saints, Brive, Leinster, and Oyonnax. Notably, Browne became the first person to row from New York City to Galway, completing the journey on October 4, 2022, after 112 days at sea. He also accomplished the Atlantic Challenge solo in 2017, taking 63 days, six hours, and 25 minutes.
