He teaches at the Aberystwyth University where he specializes in Romanticism and Welsh literature in English. He has published multiple poetry collections and received the Ellis Griffith and L.W. Davies awards in 2002/03 for his scholarly work on Waldo Williams. He resides in Cardiff and is married to writer Francesca Rhydderch. He is also the brother of Jason Walford Davies and the son of Hazel Walford Davies.
