Dan Avey (1941–2010) was a prominent radio personality and newscaster in Los Angeles for over 30 years. He earned more than 30 major journalism awards, including 15 Golden Mikes. Avey began his career at KXLY and became known for his work with the Los Angeles Kings as an analyst. His broadcasting journey included stints at KFWB, KWIZ, and KFI, before joining KABC. He was also a Vietnam veteran, sports commentator, and taught sports broadcasting at USC. Avey passed away from cancer, leaving behind a significant legacy in radio.
