Dan Claudiu Tănăsescu, born on April 26, 1938, in Mogoșoaia, Romania, is a Romanian physician, author, short story writer, publicist, novelist, and writer. He served as a Romanian senator from 2004 to 2008, elected in Dâmbovița county on the PRM party list. In June 2007, he became an independent senator. Tănăsescu was also a member of parliamentary friendship groups with Macedonia, Norway, Panama, and Pakistan.
