Dan P. McAdams is a personality psychologist and Henry Wade Rogers Professor in the Department of Psychology at Northwestern University. Born on February 7, 1954, in Lynwood, he grew up in Gary, Indiana, and attended Valparaiso University. He earned a Ph.D. from Harvard in 1979. McAdams authored 'The Person: An Introduction to the Science of Personality Psychology' and co-edited the eleven-volume series 'The Narrative Study of Lives' with Amia Lieblich and Ruthellen Josselson. He is also a member of the Becker Friedman Institute's Working Group on Human Capital and Economic Opportunities.
