Daniël Omer De Kesel, known as Nonkel Fons, was a Belgian Norbertine priest, journalist, and children's book author. Born on January 19, 1912, in Adegem, he became influential at Éditions Averbode, where he worked for about 40 years. He joined the abbey in 1930 and was ordained in 1936. Nonkel Fons significantly impacted the publishing house that began with the magazine Zonneland in 1919. He also served as a screenwriter, editor, and publisher, primarily in the Dutch language.
