Daniel Sysoev (January 12, 1974 – November 20, 2009) was a Russian Orthodox priest, missionary, and writer, head of the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle in Moscow. He was active in missionary work, notably converting Muslims to Orthodoxy, and openly criticized Islam. He was killed in his church while performing his religious duties. His death is considered a martyrdom by many Orthodox Christians, who anticipate his canonization as a saint.
