She has described nearly 330 new taxa, including 15 new genera and 128 species within the Anthidiini tribe. An emeritus professor at the Universidade Federal do Paraná, she contributes to taxonomic studies, having established Brazil's first graduate program in entomology. Urban's early education was influenced by her family's Polish heritage, and she has actively promoted the study of zoology and entomology throughout her career.
