Daphna Joel (born January 20, 1967) is an Israeli neuroscientist known for her advocacy of neurofeminism and her research challenging the notion of distinctly male and female brains. She argues against the categorization of brains by gender and has faced criticism from some neuroscientists regarding her claims. Joel is part of The NeuroGenderings Network, addressing neurosexism in research. She has been the head of the psychobiology department at Tel Aviv University since 2003, and in 2013, she became chair of the PhD committee at the School of Psychological Sciences.
