Darren Mew is a British swimmer born on December 12, 1979, in Newport. He achieved notable success in competitive swimming, securing two bronze medals at the World Short Course Championships and four medals at the Commonwealth Games, including two silvers and two bronzes. Additionally, he earned six bronze medals at the European Short Course Championships, and a bronze medal at the 2007 Summer Universiade. In April 2004, he recorded the fourth fastest time in history for the 100m breaststroke and was ranked among the top ten in both short and long-distance breaststroke events for ten consecutive years starting in 1997.
