His channelling abilities reportedly began after witnessing a UFO in Los Angeles in 1973. He claims to communicate with an extraterrestrial being named Bashar, sharing and publishing their messages. Anka's works gained popularity among New Age and spiritual communities in Japan after his first visit in 1987.
