David James Edgar was a Scottish footballer born on 5 February 1902, who specialized in the position of outside left. He had a notable career in the Scottish Football League, scoring 20 goals in 121 appearances for clubs including East Fife, Heart of Midlothian, and Airdrieonians. Edgar was part of the East Fife team that reached the Scottish Cup Final in 1927. Later, in the 1930s, he moved to England, contributing another 20 goals in 92 appearances for Aldershot and Darlington.
