David Lowell Gibson, born on October 1, 1946, is an American country music songwriter known for his work with various artists including Alabama and Tanya Tucker. Raised in Texas, he moved to Nashville in 1982 to pursue his career in music. Gibson held a publishing contract with a company associated with The Oak Ridge Boys and was the frontman of the Gibson/Miller Band from 1990 to 1994. He was married to singer-songwriter Daisy Dern.
