David James 'Dave' Mattacks, born on March 13, 1948, in Edgware, Middlesex, England, is a rock and folk drummer. Before playing the drums, he worked as a piano tuner and played with several jazz bands. In 1969, he joined the band Fairport Convention. In 1998, he moved to Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA, where he became a sought-after studio musician and producer. He is currently a member of the band Super Genius, which tours regularly across Great Britain, Europe, and Australia.
