David James McAleer (born 4 February 1945) is a significant figure in the UK music industry, known for his contributions to several music books and as the sole Music Consultant for the Guinness World Records from 1998 to 2011. He was pivotal in introducing disco and rap to the UK, working with numerous record labels over 25 years. McAleer managed the RAH Band and facilitated early opportunities for DJs like Paul Oakenfold. Additionally, he organized the first UK music industry pop quiz in 1976.
