He is the former president of PayPal and currently serves as the Vice President of Messaging Products at Facebook, where he leads the Facebook Messenger unit. In December 2017, he was appointed to the board of directors of Coinbase and is presently the head of Libra, a cryptocurrency project launched by Facebook.
