David Christopher Bushby, born on July 17, 1965, is an Australian diplomat and former politician. He served as a Senator for Tasmania from August 2007 to January 2019, representing the Liberal Party. During his tenure, he was the Chief Government Whip in the Senate under the Abbott, Turnbull, and Morrison governments from July 1, 2014, until his resignation on January 21, 2019. After leaving politics, Bushby became the Consul-General of Australia in Chicago in 2019.
