David Carlos de Vergara Marañón, also known as David del Santísimo Sacramento Sch. P., was a Spanish Escolapio religious born on December 29, 1907, in Asarta, Spain. He served in the community of Peralta de la Sal and became a martyr during the Spanish Civil War in 1936. He is venerated as a beatified figure in the Catholic Church. His life and sacrifice are commemorated within the context of the struggles faced by religious communities during the civil strife in Spain.
