David Francis Duncan was a British diplomat born on 22 February 1923 and died on 31 August 2007. He served as an officer in the Royal Artillery during World War II, where he was mentioned in despatches. After the war, he joined the Diplomatic Service and held notable positions, including the 8th United Kingdom Ambassador to Nicaragua from 1974 to 1976 and British counsellor to the Disarmament Conference from 1971 to 1974.
