David E. Comings is an American medical geneticist renowned for his work in genetics and behavioral disorders. He served as chief of genetics at the City of Hope National Medical Center from 1966 to 2002 and was president of the American Society of Human Genetics. His research includes genetics related to Tourette's syndrome, nicotine addiction, and alcoholism. After retiring, he directed The Comings Foundation, focusing on climate change and medical sciences. He remained active in research until 2016.
