David Eben is a Czech musician and musicologist born on January 6, 1965, in Prague. He leads the male choir Schola Gregoriana Pragensis, focusing on Gregorian chant, and plays wind instruments in the band Bratři Ebenové. A scholar and practitioner of Gregorian chant, he is the son of composer Petr Eben and nephew of composer Ilja Hurník. Academically, he works at the Institute of Musicology at Charles University in Prague, where he was appointed a professor in Music Art with a focus on Music Theory in 2017.
