David Epston is a New Zealand psychotherapist and co-director of the Family Therapy Centre in Auckland. He is known for his work alongside Australian Michael White, with whom he has published three books. Together, they are regarded as pioneers of the narrative approach in systemic therapy. Epston also teaches at various institutions, including Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland, John F. Kennedy University in San Francisco, and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. He is recognized as a particularly creative and efficient therapist.
