David F. Edwards is an American physicist born on March 2, 1928, in Ironton, Ohio. He specializes in solid-state physics and earned his Bachelor's degree in 1949 from Miami University and a Ph.D. in nuclear physics from the University of Cincinnati in 1953. Edwards has worked at notable institutions including Battelle Memorial Institute, Willow Run Laboratory, and Lincoln Laboratory at MIT. He became a professor at Colorado State University in 1965 and contributed to Los Alamos National Laboratory and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He received the Oliver E. Buckley Condensed Matter Prize in 1990.
