David Finckel is an acclaimed American cellist, known for his significant contributions to classical music. He was the cellist for the Emerson String Quartet from 1979 to 2013 and is currently co-artistic director of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Additionally, he is a co-founder of the independent record label ArtistLed and Music@Menlo. Finckel serves as a professor at The Juilliard School and has a collaborative partnership with pianist Wu Han, with whom he regularly performs. Their work extends to various ensembles, enhancing the chamber music landscape.
