David Garst (1926-2006) was a prominent seed industry leader and farmer known for his role as Executive President of Garst Seed Company. He significantly contributed to livestock, fertilizer, and chemical sectors, as well as agricultural development in Eastern Europe and the Caribbean. Garst was involved in U.S. agricultural policies and trade initiatives, including the Caribbean Basin Initiative and open trade with Communist countries. In the 1990s, he led a project in Moscow that developed local dairy and poultry industries. He was also politically active and an opponent of the 2003 Iraq invasion.
