David Gogiya is a Georgian and Soviet footballer born on January 17, 1948, in Samtredia, Georgian SSR. He played as a goalkeeper for clubs including Kutaisi Torpedo, Tbilisi Dynamo, and Lanchkhuti Guria. Gogiya was a champion of the Soviet Union in 1978 and a vice-champion in 1977. He earned bronze medals three times and was a two-time holder of the Soviet Cup with Dynamo (1976, 1979). In 1972, he was named a Master of Sports of the Soviet Union and was recognized among the 33 best players in the Soviet Union in 1978.
