Dawit Hambarzumjan was a Soviet-Armenian diver born on June 24, 1956, in Kapan and died on January 11, 1992, in Yerevan. He specialized in the 10-meter platform event and competed in three consecutive Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal. He also earned two European Championship titles. Hambarzumjan began diving at the age of nine and was associated with the Dynamo Yerevan club. His career was marked by significant achievements, including a seventh-place finish in the 1972 and 1976 Olympics and first international medals in 1977, and three national titles.
