David W. Hight is a British civil engineer specializing in geotechnics. He studied at Imperial College London, obtaining his Bachelor's in 1965, a Master's in 1971, and a PhD in 1983. Hight worked as a civil engineer and was a Research Fellow and Lecturer at Imperial College. He has been involved in significant projects, including the Gullfaks C oil platform and the Hong Kong International Airport. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and was awarded the British Geotechnical Society Prize in 1993. Hight is known for his work on soil characterization.
