David Henry Gason Ince DFC (1921-2017) was a distinguished Royal Air Force pilot during World War II, known for his exceptional flying skills in Hawker Typhoons. He completed nearly 150 sorties and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for his bravery. Ince is notable for participating in the only raid in Europe that utilized napalm, near Arnhem in April 1945. Additionally, in 1958, he set a UK glider distance record by flying an Olympia 419 glider from Lavenham, Suffolk, to Land's End, covering a remarkable 315 miles.
