David L. Baker is a British space author and self-described space scientist born in 1944. He worked for NASA on the Gemini, Apollo, and Space Shuttle programs from 1965 to 1984, witnessing the events of Apollo 13. After returning to the UK, he established a consultancy to aid countries, including India, with space technology development. An accomplished journalist and author, he has published thousands of articles and over 100 books, and contributed to various media. He was also a fellow and editor for the British Interplanetary Society's journal, Spaceflight.
