David L. Mills is an American computer engineer born on June 3, 1938. He is notable for his contributions to network technology, having chaired the Internet Architecture Board and invented technologies such as the Network Time Protocol and the Fuzzball router. He was appointed a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery in 1999, became a Fellow of the IEEE in 2002, and was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2008. Mills has served as a professor at the University of Delaware.
