David V. Monasterio Ruiz (born January 13, 1971) is a retired Puerto Rican swimmer specializing in freestyle and butterfly. He represented Puerto Rico in the 1992 Summer Olympics and earned three relay medals at the 1991 Pan American Games held in Havana, Cuba. Monasterio has three brothers and pursued higher education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, subsequently obtaining an MBA from Indiana University Bloomington.
